OVERVIEW

RMT Woodworth is an industrial services firm specializing in heat treating of metals for the automotive, off-highway, construction and defense industries.

OPPORTUNITY

Pre-acquisition, RMT boasted a double-digit CAGR for the previous 3 years and attractive cash flow margins. This opportunity was especially attractive to APCP due to the continued outsourcing of non-core competencies, such as heat treating, by Fortune 1000 firms.

OUR APPROACH

Post-acquisition, APCP worked with industry experts and the leadership team to identify opportunities that would increase revenue for RMT. APCP believed in the ongoing trend towards outsourcing in the OEM and other sectors.

RESULTS

Through the combined efforts of APCP and the Leadership team:

  • Dec. 2006: RMT wins a $75 million contract which, independent of existing backlog and growth initiatives, promises to double the business in two years.
  • Jul. 2007: RMT wins another large multi-year contract in the railroad industry which promises to add nicely to its existing backlog of business in 2008.
  • Dec. 2008: RMT achieves the highest revenue and earnings levels in the company’s 40 year history.
  • Jan. 2010: RMT expands into energy industries and continues working towards securing multi-year contracts with Fortune 500 clients.
